Abstract

This learning unit deals with the definition of a team. It will help you identify the fundamental aspects characterizing a working team. By knowing and recognizing them, you will be able to give them the right amount of importance while building a new workgroup or while working on improving teamwork. These fundamental aspects (or key features) are:
Individual features (that is, what the individual brings into a group)
Common/ shared features (they concern the group dynamics)

Together, individual and common features trigger 2 additional key elements of a group: a team’s needs and rules for teamwork.
